Perfect Play

In arguably one of the better games of the week, Damian Lillard finished the play and pointed to his wrist — normally where someone would tie their watch. He was pointing it out emphatically to say it was “Lillard time” and he was absolutely correct.

Tied at 110 apiece, the Portland Blazers were hosting the Los Angeles Lakers, reminding us of the early 2000s matchups. Lillard was being guarded by the taller, longer Brandon Ingram. But none of that mattered as the Blazers’ point guard took a dribble, stepped back and hit a dagger over the lanky Laker to win the game.

A Thursday night matchup on TNT and easily the play of the week goes to Lillard ending the Lakers’ futile attempt at a big road victory. The Portland point guard continues to be one of the most dangerous players in clutch situations, coming up with big-time shot after big-time shot.

Most remember the game-winning shot over Houston near the other sideline, but this shot was just as big, even if the moment wasn’t as large. Props to Lillard for winning the award for Perfect Play this week.
