Report: Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn sent home from WWE UK tour
By Jack Crosby
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were reportedly sent home from the WWE UK tour following their appearance on SmackDown Live.
Since they’ve recently been put together, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn together have been one of the better acts on WWE television. This was evident as recently as Tuesday night with their appearance together on SmackDown Live to mess with Shane McMahon some more as they continued to be left off the Survivor Series team for the brand.
But, it seems like everything after the show did not go well as their usual appearance together. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, following the show, the two were sent home early from the UK tour Wednesday morning.
Now, as for the reasoning behind the two real-life best friends being sent home early, while Pro Wrestling Sheet doesn’t know anything definitive at this time, sources have indicated to Ryan Satin that it was some sort of disciplinary action against the duo. What they may have been disciplined for, though, is really anyone’s guess.
UPDATE: According to SI.com, the two were sent home for going into business for themselves during their segment on SmackDown Live.
Zayn and Owens, bitter rivals during most of their time together in WWE, were recently paired together at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. During a Hell in a Cell match between Owens and Shane McMahon, Zayn appeared out of the crowd to shocking save Owens from one of Shane’s infamous cell leaps. The two have been thorns in the side of McMahon together on SmackDown Live since then, all the while proving to a WWE audience the same thing they showed independent fans years ago — they can be wildly entertaining when paired with one another.
