Martellus Bennett indicated on his Instagram he will retire at the end of the season, but he may be having second thoughts.
Martellus Bennett recently sounded like a man who was ready to retire at the end of the year on his Instagram. Bennett had apparently talked his future over with his family saying, “Pretty sure these next eight games will be the conclusion of my NFL career.”
However, Bennett maybe be changing his tune.
“Nothing is ever a done deal with me,” Bennett told FanSided.com. “Everything is up for conversation. I don’t know what I’m going to do, honestly.”
Whenever the colorful Bennett retires, he will have played with some of the best quarterbacks to ever play the position. From Aaron Rodgers now, to Tom Brady and Tony Romo. Bennett could not decide who was the best.
“I can’t really say,” Bennett wrestled. “It’s like trying to figure out which girlfriend you dated was the best. I’ve been fortunate to play with a lot of good quarterbacks. One day I will sit down and write about what made this guy so special. Maybe I’ll write a book called the quarterback whisperer.”
As for which iconic uniform looks best on Bennett, he is warming up to his current situation.
“I did not know if I was going to like the green and gold when I got here. I actually really do like it. and my wife likes the way it looks on me too. I like to be the tight end with the tight end. If I get the right pants size, I look good in all of them,” Bennett joked.
Whether he is playing or not, Bennett will continue to use his platform to try and make the world a better place and provide opportunities for those who are less fortunate. He is currently working with Microsoft’s Create Change program, a video series discussing how players use Microsoft technology in their philanthropic endeavors. Bennett started The Imagination Agency along with the Uncle Smarty Foundation.

They started a Super Bowl LII contest to learn stories of fans creating positive change within their community. Fans are encouraged to share them on social media using #CreateChangeContest. Bennett and company will choose their favorite entries and the winners will receive a trip for two to this years Super Bowl.
