ESPN College Pick Em Week 11: Washington State is back!
Week 9 was a bad week in Pick Em. Little did I know that week 10 would be even worse. In fact, it was the worst week I have ever had in Pick Em,and I’ve been playing since they started this game! I only had 25 points! I missed the five, six, eight, and ten point games. There was only one score lower in the reader’s group.

He only missed three picks! annelbaldwin still leads the group with 444 points. earleyca is in second, but is 15 points behind. Five entries are within six points of third place. Me? It’s going to take a strong finish to get me back into the top ten.

(1) Michigan State over Ohio State:
Both teams beat a pretty strong Penn State team. Watching the Buckeyes against Iowa last week, I’m not sure how they did. That ugly loss to Northwestern is holding Sparty back, but they can jump right back in this thing with a win here. They have the defense to do it.
(2) Miami over Notre Dame:
Catholics vs. Convicts is back! However, Miami has cleaned up its image under Mark Richt. The Hurricanes have been really tough in that shiny new stadium that they have down there in south Florida. I expect a really good game here. The Irish have a good defense, but something just tells me that the Hurricanes take a wild one.
(3) Iowa State over Oklahoma State:
Ames is a house of horrors for the Cowboys. Texas’s defense dominated Okie State in Stillwater. Iowa State’s defense is about as good as that Texas unit, and they are at home. Iowa State still has a legitimate shot at a berth in the Big 12(10) title game. All they have to do is win this one at home.
(4) Georgia over Auburn:
Georgia looks like a well balanced team. So is Auburn. I do think that Georgia is slightly better on defense, and that rushing attack is hard to shut down for an entire game. They have two excellent backs that just wear down defenses. They likely do the same to a pretty good Auburn unit.
(5) Oklahoma over TCU:
If this game were in Fort Worth, it may be a different story. I expect a good game, but it may be as high scoring as last year (and last week for the Sooners). Kenny Hill threw for five touchdowns and 445 yards in last year’s loss. Baker Mayfield can win the Heisman with a strong game in a win here. Strap in and watch the fun!

(6) Wisconsin over Iowa:
Iowa had their fun. The fact is that they have not played very well on the road. If this one were in Iowa City, it may be a different story. I do think that Iowa can keep it close, but I don’t see them pulling it out.
(7) North Carolina State over Boston College:
This one makes me nervous because the Eagles are a good team and they are at home. That said, the Wolfpack have one of the most versatile players in college in Jaylen Samuel, and they have a quarterback in Boise transfer Ryan Finley that just doesn’t make mistakes. This stays pretty close, but every game looks like it will this week.
(8) Virginia Tech over Georgia Tech:
The Hokies can stop the run. That means they can stop Georgia Tech. The Bees just lost to the Hoos last week. Tech might roll them here.
(9) Boise State over Colorado State:
Colorado State is pretty good at home, but Boise has figured some things out in the last two months. They have figured out how to use two quarterbacks successfully, and they found a running back that can meet the demands of the offense. The Rams seem to have regressed.
(10) Washington State over Utah:
The Cougars still have a shot at this wacky playoff thingy if they can win out. That starts with a whitewashing of a Utah team that isn’t nearly as good as UCLA made them look. Then again, the Cougars have not played all that well on the road. Still, if any of these ten games are going to be a blowout, it’s this one.
