Seahawks CB Richard Sherman believes his Achilles is torn, and if so, he could be done for the season.
Seattle Seahawks star cornerback Richard Sherman is convinced that he has an injury which could sideline him for the rest of the season. That injury is his to his Achilles tendon, and Sherman believes he has torn it, according to a tweet from Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network.
Sherman suffered the injury during Seattle’s Thursday night game against the Arizona Cardinals. The injury came in the third quarter, and after Sherman went down, he had to be taken off the field by cart, which all NFL fans know is never, ever a good thing. Also, not a good omen for Seahawks fans was Sherman himself caught saying that his Achilles did indeed tear.

Whether or not the Achilles is actually torn, we don’t officially know (the team is officially calling it a heel injury), but what we do know is that his loss certainly takes the “boom” out of Seattle’s legendary Legion of Boom secondary.
Granted, the Seahawks still have talent in that secondary, but, to be realistic, they haven’t really been the same the past two seasons. And with Sherman possibly out for the remainder of the year, life is about to get a little tougher for the Legion.
Richard Sherman is convinced he tore his Achilles. Following Tirico's lip read, you could see he told Bobby Wagner, "It's torn, it's torn."

For now, Jeremy Lane will be Sherman’s replacement, and he isn’t a bad substitute. So far, the Seattle defense is holding its own against the improving Cardinals, and if its offense can keep making plays like the incredible Doug Baldwin catch, then the Seahawks should be able to hold down the fort until their emotional leader returns.
It’s a downer for Seattle fans that Sherman was knocked out of the game but fear not, Seahawks fans, your team will still the NFC West’s best bet to knock off the red-hot L.A. Rams from their lofty perch on top of the division.
