The Northern Iowa Panthers and the defending champion North Carolina Tar Heels square off in Chapel Hill, NC for their season opener game on Friday. The Heels need to come into this game red hot and with energy if they want to avoid an upset at home.
The Panthers are coming off of a sluggish 14-16 season. Their only postseason game was a loss in the MVC first-round game to Missouri State. This year, the Panthers look to start off strong as they will try to knock off UNC.
For the Heels, they start this season ranked ninth in the country coming off of a national championship back in April. Their main goal is to defend their title and hopefully be able to compete at a high level they played at last year.
