Thunder hold closed-door meeting after loss to Nuggets

The Oklahoma City Thunder currently sit at 4-7, and have lost four straight games. After their most recent loss in Denver the team held a closed-door team meeting.

The Thunder are a good team, but right now they are really struggling to win games, especially the close ones. It’s a start that I’m sure not even the team saw them coming. They’ve lost four games in a row, and it all started in the second half of their game against the Boston Celtics.

Right now they only lead the Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference. I’m sure Thunder fans never thought the Lakers would be ahead of them in the standings. According to CBS Sports, After their most recent loss in Denver the team held a closed-door team meeting.

The team is sure that this is just a bump in the road, and that they’re just off to a slow start. You can never be too sure in this league though so the team decided they needed to talk it out, and see if they can find some points that’s been the cause of their sluggish start. Even Carmelo Anthony said they have to talk about it, and be up front.

A couple points the Thunder can look at is the fact that they’re blowing leads. They’ve had sizable leads in three of the four straight games they’ve lost. Including the game against the Celtics where they blew a 20-plus point lead in the first half. In Sacramento they led 25-to-10 at the end of the first quarter, and went on to lose that game.

What’s really odd about the Thunder’s slow start is that they have to third-best net rating in the NBA. Behind only the Celtics and the Golden State Warriors. They give up the second fewest points in the league as well. They’re really good defensively, but they’ve been dreadful in the clutch. They’re 0-6 in “clutch” games, and only have three assisted field goals in the clutch all season.

The Thunder have the roster to get this sorted out so this is no time to panic yet in Oklahoma City.
