In the final episode of Inhumans’ shortened run, Black Bolt and Maximus will finally put decades worth of family tension to rest.
Despite all the promise of an Inhumans series, ABC couldn’t deliver on one. Amidst the wave of negative reviews when it was released weeks in advance, it was quickly found out that the eight-episode run would be the show’s first and only season.
While many likely viewed the first season as a mere appetizer for Agents of SHIELD, a concept like the Inhumans could’ve gone in a bunch of different ambitious directions. The network executives almost certainly would’ve liked to see a crossover between Inhumans and SHIELD. But with one episode left, the cast and crew will hope to end the show on a bang.
It very well could. During Black Bolt and Maximus’ heated scene last episode, Maximus revealed to his brother that he has a failsafe that could trigger should the Royal Family decide to kill him, meaning the rest of Attilan will go down with him. With an entire Inhuman society hanging in the balance, both sides will have to think carefully about what their next step should be.

"Season 1 finale: The final showdown occurs between Black Bolt and Maximus, and it takes an unexpected turn, resulting in lasting consequences for all of Inhumanity."
