Vontaze Burfict gets ejected vs. Titans (Video)
Does it shock anyone that linebacker Vontaze Burfict was ejected during the Cincinnati Bengals game with the Tennessee Titans?
Burfict has a long rap sheet of disciplinary action that is punctuated by numerous suspensions for ugly hits and questionable motives.
There is a school of thought that suggests that Burfict just plays with the same intensity that would have made him a fit on plenty of old school defenses. But in 2017, he has a long road to walk to stay in games and keep the league out of his pockets.
On Sunday, there was a series of events that led up to his latest drama.
It went down like this. Burfict laid the foundation on his controversial day by generating a personal foul against running back DeMarco Murray. In this opinion that set that tone for where this situation was headed.
From there, Burfict attempted to make a play on Titans’ QB Marcus Mariota, who was getting his Cam Newton on and diving for the end zone. Mariota was not awarded the score and somewhere in that exchange, Burfict committed the ultimate pigskin sin and made contact with an official.

And just like that, he was taunting the crowd on his way off the field, playing up to his heel status.
Burfict is that guy that always seems to find trouble. Honestly, some of it does come his way unjustifiably. But as anyone that has kids tells their children, once your reputation is set, it’s almost impossible to change how you are perceived.
Burfict is one of a handful of NFL villains. And for Sunday’s efforts, he can expect to receive a FedEx envelope from the league later on in the week.
