The highly anticipated superhero team-up movie, Justice League, arrives in theaters this week.
Promotion for the film has hit hard, and Justice League is expected to be one of the highest grossing movies of the season. Justice League will bring a new generation of superhero characters to the fore, so DC can flesh them out further in upcoming individual movies. Joining the (relative) newcomers is a group of tried and true superheroes. Judging by the trailer, Batman will be the leader of the team, and it is generally accepted that Superman will return from the ‘dead.’
Other integral members of the team include this summers breakout star, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman, whose character film recently wrapped it’s principle photography.
Justice League will represent the largest gathering of characters from the DC Comics universe yet, and may end up in the same conversation as next years Avengers: Infinity War.
The DC movie most similar to Justice League, at least on the surface, may be Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. It also featured a fairly large collection of characters from across the DC universe. Hopefully Justice League will be better received. So far, early reviews are encouraging.
If Justice League lives up to the hopes, it will have succeeded, in some ways, against the odds. The movie’s script was re-written more than once, delaying the start of production. Also the films first director, Zack Snyder, left the production in May of this year following the death of his daughter. Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon oversaw the remaining post production.

The official release for Justice League is Nov. 17, but many theaters have preview type showings on Thursday night. These showings begin at 6:00 pm local time. Those interested in tickets, either for the Thursday night showings or following the official release can find information on that HERE.
Until then, amuse yourself with the trailer for the film.
