Against one of the top teams in the nation, the Miami Hurricanes cemented their spot atop the ACC with their victory over Notre Dame on Saturday.
Although their win over Virginia Tech last week might’ve looked big, the Miami Hurricanes really established themselves as one of the elite teams in the entire nation with their blowout win on the primetime stage on Saturday night.
With all of the eyes on them, Miami routed Notre Dame in a 41-8 shellacking in Week 11 and quieted any doubters to their success with the victory. They are the best of the best in the ACC, and they truly proved that with their win on Saturday.
Now, with just a few weeks left for teams to prove themselves in these power rankings, we’re officially in crunch time for teams looking to jump around on the list. NC State struggled against a tough Boston College defense, Virginia Tech suffered a bad loss to Georgia Tech and plenty of other action jumbled things around just this past weekend. Now, we’ll see who can replicate that in the next couple of weeks.
For now, check out the power rankings after the wild weekend in the ACC, and see where your team sees themselves heading into Week 12.

The North Carolina Tar Heels somehow managed to double their win total over the weekend with their victory over Pittsburgh, but they’re still stuck in the last spot in the ACC regardless.
The Tar Heels did beat the team just ahead of them in this week’s power rankings, but there’s no way I’d put a team with a 2-8 record anywhere ahead of a team with double their win total. Sure, a win over the Pittsburgh Panthers may be cool to a team like North Carolina, but there isn’t a lot of stock in a victory like that when you’re the two bottom teams in the ACC.
On the opposite side of the team before them, the Pittsburgh Panthers somehow managed to lose to the worst team in the ACC, but only dropped a spot in the power rankings in the process.
The Panthers were mainly in the 12th spot on the list because of Duke’s poor performance over the last few weeks, rather than their own resume. Now, after a horrible loss to the Tar Heels over the weekend, they’re right back where they belong in the 13th spot in the rankings. The bottom of the conference is incredibly weak, and it’ll be interesting to see who out of Pittsburgh and Duke takes the 13th spot on the list towards the end of the year.
