The college football recruiting landscape is always changing so let’s catch up with what happened last week in our latest recruiting roundup.

Another week of college football is in the books and it was a wild one. Alabama nearly lost, No. 1 Georgia fell by 23 points to Auburn, No. 13 Ohio State smashed Michigan State 48-3 and No. 7 Miami beat No. 3 Notre Dame 41-8.

Oh yeah, and Butch Jones was fired.

Let’s take a look at some of the top stories from our weekly recruiting roundup.

Note: Latest commitments, rankings and scheduled visits come from 247Sports.

Notre Dame lands an athlete

Despite losing in dominating fashion against Miami in Week 11, the Fighting Irish received a little bump in team recruiting rankings on 247 thanks to a commitment from three-star athlete Joe Wilkins Jr. The three-star from Fort Myers, Fla., is ranked the No. 444 overall recruit in the 2018 class and should boost Notre Dame’s class. He might not seem like a game-changer, but he was a highly sought-after recruit.

Georgia loses top recruit

What does Georgia have to do to keep top recruits these days? Apparently starting the season with a 9-0 record and rising to No. 1 in the polls didn’t matter to four-star defensive end Caleb Tannor as he de-committed in Week 11 and is considering Auburn, the team that beat Georgia. This doesn’t hurt Georgia’s impressive 2018 class, though, as Kirby Smart is assembling what seems like a dream team.

Tennessee loses plethora of prospects

As you can imagine, the firing of Butch Jones from Tennessee had a negative effect on recruit. In fact, three players de-committed last week, led by five-star tackle Cade Mays who was listed as the No. 15 player in the country. He was followed by three-star receiver Shocky Jacques-Louis and four-star wide receiver Alontae Taylor. The Volunteers have plenty of work to do if they’re going to hang on to the rest of their talented recruits.

Auburn remains hot

After taking down the No. 1 team in the country by three scores, the Auburn Tigers stayed hot on the recruiting trail, landing four-star cornerback Christian Tutt just a few days after the victory. Gus Malzahn is having a pretty good season and a national title isn’t out of the question. Tutt realized he could have an opportunity to play for a top SEC contender next season, so he jumped on it. He’s ranked the No. 221 player in the class and is the 25th-best cornerback.
