Ezekiel Elliott has decided to just serve his full six-game suspension, so when will he be making his return to the team?

It appears the drama between Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott and the NFL has finally come to an end. On Wednesday, Elliott announced, through his agents, that he will be dropping all appeals of the suspension, meaning that he will start serving his original six-game suspension, effective immediately.

So now, the Cowboys will be without a key piece of their offense for a little bit longer than just last week, when he missed the game which was a loss to the Atlanta Falcons. That was one game of the six, so there’s five more to go from this point before he could return to the field for Dallas.

With that being the case, many of you are probably wondering when Elliott will make that return to the Cowboys this season. Well, he’ll miss upcoming games against the Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Redskins, New York Giants and Oakland Raiders. After those ones are out of the way, the former Ohio State standout will make his return to the team on Christmas Eve when they welcome in the Seattle Seahawks. Quite the national stage to be making a return on.

Still, losing Elliott at this point in the season is less than ideal for the Cowboys. While catching the Eagles in the NFC East is virtually impossible, they’re still fighting for a playoff spot we are quickly entering the month of December, so it goes without saying that losing probably your best skill position player at this time of the year is somewhat of a backbreaker.

But, quarterback Dak Prescott and the rest of the Cowboys’ offense will have to figure it out over the course of the next several weeks, because Elliott has decided it’s time to stop the fight.
