Chicago Bears

-Walter Payton, Mike Ditka, Mike Singletary, Dick Butkus,

The Chicago Bears may have some of the most, if not the largest amount of history to their name in the NFL, so picking a Mount Rushmore to showcase all that they’ve done as a franchise is a bit difficult. However, the four names here likely represent the perfect Bears style of football and would fit well on the monument.

For starters, there may not be a better name to get rolling with than one of the best running backs of all-time: Walter Payton. Payton played his entire career with the Bears in their backfield and had a ton of accolades in his time in Chicago. He once had records in career rushing yards, touchdowns, all-purpose yards, yards from scrimmage and almost everything in between, and that helped him to become a Super Bowl champion in Super Bowl XX. He’s an all-time Bears player and an all-time NFL player in the Hall of Fame, as well.

Next up, with many directions to go in, we’ll roll with Mike Ditka. He’s still a living legend in Bears lore, with a Super Bowl win as coach for the team. He’s one of those names that you just think of when you try to picture the perfect “football guy”, and he’d fit perfectly on this Mount Rushmore.

Gear up with a new Bears hat from Fanatics.

To wrap things up, we’ll end with two all-time Bears linebackers in Dick Butkus and Mike Singletary. Both players represent that tough style of play that the Bears defense has become known for, and both were incredible leaders in the center of the defense in their time with the team. Both were Bears for their entire careers, and are the best way to summarize the Bears style for anyone looking at a historic monument representing the team.
