Every NFL team’s Mount Rushmore
Dallas Cowboys
-Roger Staubach, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, Troy Aikman
This is one of the many times on the list where you’d likely expect an owner to be making an appearance on the team’s Mount Rushmore. In this case, the same rule applies that will be used throughout the article where owners will be kept off to keep the spotlight on the players, despite Jerry Jones’ obvious case to be made to get his face on there.
There’s a ton of talent to sift through when you look at the Cowboys, and so much so that guys like Jones, Randy White, Bob Lilly, Tony Dorsett, Charles Haley and Deion Sanders get left off of the list. In their place, there are four solid, all-time greats that will showcase the best of the best for the ‘Boys.
For starters. we’ll begin with Roger Staubach, a two-time Super Bowl champion and a former Super Bowl MVP in his time in Dallas. He has a case to be made as the best Cowboys player of all-time, but that title likely goes to the next name on the list.
Emmitt Smith is an absolute no-brainer, as he’ll likely remain the greatest running back in NFL history for a long time, right ahead of Barry Sanders in the record books. He was a dominant force in the league and should be showcased as such.
Next, we’ll round out the offensive talent with one of the Cowboys’ best receivers of all-time in Michael Irvin. Known strictly as the playmaker, Irvin defined the iconic 88 uniform bestowed upon the best receivers in Cowboys history.

To end it off, with everyone to pick from, we’ll add in the guy who was under center for the run with Smith and Irvin in the Cowboys offense: Troy Aikman. He adds some Super Bowl success to the list and rounds out the talented group nicely.
