Justice League premieres on Nov. 17, but when does the sequel of the highly-anticipated superhero film come out?

Justice League, a superhero mash-up film that features the Flash, Batman, Aquaman and Wonder Woman attempting to save the world, will officially hit theaters on Nov. 17. The latest addition to the DC film universe brings with it tons of hype, as it seems like every other commercial on television is for either Justice League or Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

However, now that Justice League is here, when will the sequel to this highly-anticipated film come out?

Unfortunately, when the sequel comes out is a bit iffy. At first, it was expected to be released in 2019 but has been put off for an indeterminate amount of time as Zach Snyder works on The Last Photograph. My suggestion would be for DC to use someone other than Snyder for the sequel (call Patty Jenkins immediately), but it looks like they want to stick with him and wait out his other projects.

But after the early reviews of Justice League, they might be better off avoiding a sequel.

Sure, this film is going to make a ridiculous amount of money. Suicide Squad was absolutely terrible, and yet it did okay in terms of box office numbers. Anything that has a superhero in it is box office gold these days, and Justice League will be no different.

However, the scathing reviews by critics have me worried about this movie before it is even out. Thankfully, there are positives coming out of Jason Mamoa and Gal Godot’s performances, which bode well for their upcoming standalone films.

Maybe this is a step in the right direction for DC, but, at this rate, a sequel is not coming anytime soon. And maybe, just maybe, we are better off without it for now.
