This Marcus Mariota interception proves that SkyCam in the NFL is awesome

If you needed proof that using SkyCam for an NFL game was an awesome idea, then this Marcus Mariota interception will prove it to you.
There was a lot of skepticism heading into the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans this week. That skepticism surrounded the fact that NBC would be going with a unique camera angle for the contest, SkyCam, similar to the one that’s used in Madden.
While there are some detractors out there still now that the game has started and the camera is in use, you’ll find many out there who think it’s actually quite the nice change. Some of you may need some proof as to why the SkyCam angle is definitely worth it to have on the broadcasts, and if that is something you desire, Marcus Mariota of the Titans and Coty Sensabaugh of the Steelers had your back in the second quarter.
With the Titans trailing and looking to get back in the game, Mariota dropped back to pass at midfield. Apparently, he was of the belief that the Steelers were in a zone, but it turned out Sensabaugh was playing man on the receiver.
Because of the camera angle, it was evident that Mariota was headed for a disaster with an interception as soon as he pulled the ball back to fire it to where he thought the receiver would be in the zone he assumed was going to be there.
Hate on the camera all you want, but that was just an incredible sight to behold. With the camera basically in Mariota’s line of sight, you could see the whole play develop beautifully. You could literally see Sensabaugh there just ready to pounce right in front of you.
It won’t pull every fan in, but SkyCam has just been incredible so far.
