Baker Mayfield

QB, Oklahoma

The Oklahoma quarterback continues to close in on a Heisman. The program itself continues to push toward a playoff spot. If the Oklahoma Sooners can win out, they should find themselves in the College Football Playoff.

Against a fellow contender in TCU, Mayfield saved his best for this game and had a beautiful performance. He threw for 333 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions on the night in Norman.

He also rushed the ball for 50 yards. He’s going to be an intriguing draft prospect because of his mobility and the way he makes plays happen out of nowhere for himself and others each week he takes the field.

Now, there’s going to be certain comparisons that are a little he’ll naturally be given but he has the tools for the way the NFL is shifting. A strong run to the College Football Playoff will have all eyes firmly on him.

Courtland Sutton

WR, SMU

The SMU Mustangs lost a tough battle to Navy, but Courtland Sutton did his best to try and put his team on his back in the loss. Once again, the big receiver continues to be a star for a program that plays in a tough conference.

The receiver finished with seven catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns. This is similar to the stat line that he has put up in plenty of games this year. While he hasn’t always found the end zone, the yards and receptions are on point.

He’s established himself as the season goes on and that’s great for his draft stock. With plenty of sother superstars in this receivers class, Sutton is going to have to go a long way to establish himself from the rest.

He has the physical tools that some of the others do not. Now, he’s stepping up with consistency and being the focus of every team’s attack each week.
