How to watch Steelers-Titans game in regular view

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans are playing on Thursday Night Football, but everything looks weird with NBC’s SkyCam angle.

You might have just turned on the television and started to wonder what is going on with NBC, and why are they showing the Steelers and Titans in this strange angle from behind the offensive line. You might also be wondering how the heck you watch the game in normal view.

Unfortunately, if you don’t like the SkyCam angle, you are out of luck. The powers that be at NBC decided to give this a shot, probably thinking that much of its audience loves playing Madden, and this is how they are used to seeing football on a daily basis.

NBC is not doing this for every game going forward, so no worries there. You won’t be watching this angle for the Super Bowl or anything like that. This is simply an experiment, kind of like the time when NBC broadcast a game back in the early 1980s between the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins without broadcasters. That particular experiment lasted a single game.

The benefits of this angle is that you really get a sense of what Marcus Mariota and Ben Roethlisberger are seeing when they drop back to sling the pigskin. It’s also much easier to see how the line play is working out between the opposing fronts.

However, the down sides are also obvious. It’s hard to see the receivers and the routes as they’re happening, along with getting an idea of how far each run is going.

Football has been shown from the same angle since it began going on television back in the 1950s. The guess here is that while this is a cool angle to switch to occasionally, it won’t become a primary view any time soon.
