We’re getting ready to see the slumping Miami Dolphins host the struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Which team will prevail in this contest?

Losers of three straight (by a combined 112-45 score), the Miami Dolphins return home and host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a game that was supposed to be played in Week 1. But due to the ramifications of Hurricane Irma, this contest was rescheduled for this Sunday. Hence both teams are in the midst of playing 16 consecutive weeks.

For the Bucs, veteran backup Ryan Fitzpatrick will once again get the nod behind center. The one-time New York Jets’ signal-caller played in four games and made three starts against the Dolphins from 2015-16.

Will familiarity breed a victory for the disappointing Buccaneers? Or can Miami rebound from their 45-21 loss to the Panthers on Monday evening at Charlotte and get back to the .500 mark?

Odds

Line: Pick ‘em

Over/Under: 41.5

The Buccaneers and Dolphins have combined for just seven wins this season and Miami is currently riding a three-game losing streak. Hence it’s no surprise that this is an even game in the oddsmakers eyes (courtesy of OddsShark) and that the over/under of 41.5 is somewhat low.

The Miami Dolphins’ couldn’t have looked worse on Monday night at Carolina, allowed 45 points and six offensive touchdowns in a 24-point loss. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers snapped a five-game losing streak last Sunday by besting the New York Jets but was hardly impressive in the process. Meanwhile Dirk Koetter’s club has dropped six consecutive road games dating back to last season. The Bucs’ pass defense has been woeful this season and you can look for Cutler and his various weapons to exploit a group that doesn’t get a lot of help from its pass rush.

Pick: Dolphins 28, Buccaneers 23
