Top five games of the weekend in college basketball: November 17-19
These are the games of the weekend you need to watch in college basketball.
We are entering the second weekend of college basketball, and teams are beginning to learn what they may be this year. With invitational tournaments galore there are plenty of interesting match-ups each day. It is always nice to see teams challenge themselves early, and the surprises that come in November are always great.
This weekend in particular, though, seems a bit weak, but here are the top five most interesting match-ups for this weekend.
Auburn vs Temple – Friday, 11 AM ET
The Auburn Tigers have been shrouded with controversy involving the FBI Scandal and having two key players, Austin Wiley and Danjel Purifoy, ruled ineligible for the time being. Despite that, Bruce Pearl’s group has stared 2-0 behind Bryce Brown. While their two games were not against opponents from the major six or seven conferences, they will look to put the controversy behind them with a win against a solid Temple team.
Temple has only played one game, an 11-point win over Old Dominion, so Auburn will be a very early test. This team is experienced and full of returners, which is great for an early challenge. Look for Temple to rely on its experience to lead them to the win in the Gildan Charleston Classic.
A win for either team could propel them to a great first half of the season if the confidence carries. Both teams have a great chance to get a relatively notable win in this game on a neutral site.
