DraftKings European League Basketball Picks November 17

What’s this? The Euro League? Well, yes! Some of the biggest stars in the NBA came from here. It is also a place where former college and NBA stars go to try and make their way back to the NBA. DraftKings started putting these contests out there, and due to some feedback on Twitter, we listened and are giving you the picks!

The Euro league is a different animal. It is much more halfcourt oriented than the NBA game. The games are also eight minutes shorter. There are 16 teams in the Euro League. Half of the league is in action for today. The games start at noon eastern, so make sure you get your picks in early!

More from DraftKings

The money line was up a bit to 147 yesterday. Poor days from Ray McCallum and lack of playing time for James Augustine ruined my lineup.

The winning lineup was up to 198.5 DraftKings points thanks to the huge days from formerĀ NBA playersĀ Nick Calathes and Thomas Robinson. Good value from James Anderson and another solid day from Alexey Shved earned him the win.

Guards:

I am taking the same approach to lineup building that I do in the NBA games: you need at least one superstar, and to find solid bargains somewhere. Yesterday I hit with Luka Doncic and two of the bargain picks, but McCallum going cold in a blowout loss to Real Madrid torpedoed my picks.

Brad Wanamaker ($10,400): Wanamaker is higher priced because of his remarkable consistency. The fomer Pitt product hasĀ not been under 22 DraftKings points since the opening game of the season. That kind of consistency is worth paying for. With the tough matchups for Nando de Colo and Taylor Rochestie, I feel better about using Wanamaker. If I could squeeze him in, I would rather do Huertel, but I felt I compromised the lineup too much in doing so.

Jordan Theodore ($9,300): Andrew Goudelock is out against Bamberg today, so Theodore should be able to pick up a lot of the slack. Goudelock’s absence also makes Curtis Jerrells a solid value play if Bertans is out again. I also like Ricky Hickman against Milan’s suddenly depleted guard rotation.

Brian Roberts ($5,100): Roberts is a very good value play with Vassilis Spanoulis still out. Roberts had a big game Istanbul on Wednesday and should see plenty of run against Moscow tonight. Still, I’m not enamored with any of the high priced guards tonight, so I am going to go with Theodore and Hickman and spend the bigger money up front. However, you can pair one of the high priced guards with Roberts if you need to. I still expect a solid game from him.

Forwards:

Dorell Wright ($10,200): Wright spent some time in Portland and Philadelphia in the NBA. Now he spends his nights patrolling the paint for Bamberg. He has a juicy matchup against Milan, who has been really weak on the inside this season. Wright has topped the 30 threshold twice in four games for Bamberg. He seems a lock to do the same tonight. I trust him far more than Will Clyburn, who has been losing minutes lately.

Mathias Lessort ($8,000): Lessort has had good games against weaker frontcourts, so tonight against Olympiacos is a good place to use him. The Sixers actually drafted him in the 2017 NBA draft, but he also signed a three year deal with Belgrade. Philadelphia doesn’t need him right now, but he is worth keeping an eye on if he rips apart the Euro League.

Kyle Hines ($7,000): The emergence of former UNC-Greenboro product Kyle Hines has limited Clyburn’s minutes in recent games. Hines had a huge game against Belgrade. Olympiacos is weak in the middle, and the worst in the league in allowing fantasy points to forwards. I like Hines and rebounder extraordinaire Othello Hunter. Combined they cost about as much as Clyburn does.
