Burnley have enjoyed an excellent start to the Premier League season and find themselves in seventh place after 11 matches, level on points with Liverpool and Arsenal and only three behind fourth-place Chelsea.
Sean Dyche has done an excellent job, turning a team short on elite talent into one of the hardest to beat in the top flight. The Clarets have scored only 10 goals in their 11 matches, but have conceded nine. That defensive record owes much to the performances of Ben Mee and James Tarkowski, who was brought into the starting XI following Michael Keane’s departure to Everton in the summer.
Burnley will be confident at home against Swansea, with whom many expected them to be battling relegation this season. But while the Clarets have thrived, the Swans are languishing in 19th place on only eight points.
Like their opponents on Saturday, Paul Clement’s side have been solid at the back, conceding only 13 goals, but have struggled going forward. Their seven goals scored is the joint second worst mark in the league, better only than last-place Crystal Palace. Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham has shown flashes of his potential up front, but he’s lacked the support necessary to be truly dangerous.
