The Greatest of All Time celebrated a milestone ‘as old as time’ with her celebrity friends, a romantic carousel, and a ‘Beauty and the Beast’ theme.

Who knew that Serena Williams was such a Disney fan? The 23-time grand slam champion decided that if she was going to organize a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, it would be centered around one of her favorite movies, Beauty and the Beast.

The entire event was a lavish affair, set on a very important date for the couple, with Disney-themed details, thrones for the happy couple like the movie, lots of smiling celebrities, and a wardrobe to die for.

Serena Williams wed Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in New Orleans on November 16 in front of 200 of their closest friends and family, including their adorable two-month baby, Alexis. Here’s a lowdown on the gorgeous details.

The date had an emotional significance

November 16 was chosen in memory of Alexis’s mother, as that’s the date of her birthday. She had passed away nine years ago.

“Choosing her birthday as our wedding date was a nice way of making sure she’s still involved and made us feel more connected to her on our day,” said Serena to Vogue, who had the exclusive photo publishing deal.

Serena and Alexis’ baby was in attendance

Serena gave birth to the girl, Alexis “Olympia” Ohanian, Jr., at the beginning of September. She was cradled by her grandmother, Oracene Williams, during the ceremony, and posed along with her mother in the official photographs. She wore a specially designed gown and matching elegant booties, of course. The little girl has quite a presence. After all, she was there when her mom won her last grand slam pregnant.

Serena’s tennis legacy was a presence throughout

Guests sat at tables with a placeholder that represented each of her incredible grand slam wins. Attendees also received a golden trophy to take home as a keepsake from the ceremony. Ohanian paid tribute to the athlete during the vows, which the couple wrote themselves.

“You are the greatest of all time, not just in sport,” he told her while they recited their vows.

“Be Our Guest” played as attendees joined the reception. The couple danced to “Tale as Old as Time.” The tennis legend said she wanted everything that would signify a ball, which included gold throne-like chairs for the bride and groom, luxurious chandeliers, fairytale-inspired invitations, the stunning ball gown worn by Serena during the ceremony, and no fairy-tale is complete without a magnificent carousel, which guest Biance lost no time posing on.

She wore not one, but three separate gowns during the ceremony and reception. You can see them here:

And the celebrities in attendance:

Alexis Ohanian talked to Vogue about deciding the theme. “What do you think about a royal ball?’ Serena was like, ‘I just want it to be opulent. I want it to be like a fairy tale.’”

But she is an athlete so she donned a pair of Nikes at the end, but they were jewel-encrusted for the occasion of course.

Surpassing Stefi Graf’s Open Era record for most slams while pregnant, giving birth to her first child, and now getting married. 2017 has been phenomenal for the legend. How can you top all that?

The icon will be busy getting ready to come back to competitive tennis, targeting the 2018 Australian Open for her return. We can guarantee she’ll have a new little person cheering her on in the stands.
