DraftKings Early NBA picks November 19: Ride Whiteside Today!

There are two early games on Sunday, so DraftKings split up the slate to give us a couple of different ways to attack this. I would advise only playing the all day tournament in the late swap tournaments. We haven’t really been burned by sitting players this season yet, but that can change at any time. Especially when you have such a large difference between the tournament lock and the late games.

More from DraftKings

The money line was up a bit to 254.75. I placed one lineup. None of the value panned out in the other one.

The winning lineup was actually down a couple of points to 344.25. He got nice value from Cauley-Stein and Saric, plus huge value from Wesley Matthews at 5% ownership. He also gambled and won with Ben Simmons.

Point Guards

Best Bet:

Kyle Lowry ($8,200): Lowry has back to back games of more than 50 DraftKings points. The Wizards don’t defend the point well, and John Wall may miss the game with a sore knee. The knee was clearly bothering Wall Friday night. Even if he does play, Wall wont be 100%. Lowry could put up really big numbers again.

Honorable Mention:

Goran Dragic ($6,600): Dragic still dumps in enough points to give him a good floor, but he hasn’t really tipped the scales with a dominant game yet. He did that semi regularly last year. Dragic did have 33.25 DraftKings points in the first game with Indiana. He is a strong bet to hit value again today.

Darren Collison ($6,100): Dragic is a good defender, so expecting big things from Collison today is a bit out of bounds. Collison was under 5x value in the first meeting, but he has been playing well lately. Collison does have 75.75 DraftKings points combined in the last two games.

Dark Horse:

Tim Frazier ($3,400): Frazier is only in play if Wall is ruled out. Considering that the knee was visibly bothering him on Friday and the quick turnaround to an afternoon game, I do get the feeling that Wall will be out. Even still, Frazier is a risky play. He isn’t a scorer or rebounder, and he is only a solid passer.

My picks:Ā Lowry(PG)

DraftKings
WASHINGTON, DC – OCTOBER 18: Bradley Beal #3 of the Washington Wizards enters the game in the second half against the Philadelphia 76ers at Capital One Arena on October 18, 2017 in Washington, DC. Shooting Guards

Best Bets:

DeMar DeRozan ($8,300): DeRozan has scored at least 22 points in every game this month. The kicker is that he is picking up more than five assists per game this month as well! DeRozan has always been an elite scorer, but now that he is distributing better as well, DeRozan has a stronger floor than ever.

Bradley Beal ($7,800): Beal picked up the slack with Wall struggling on Friday. He broke the 50 DraftKings point threshold for the fourth time this season. The first time he did was against Toronto. Beal lit up the Raptors the first time around, and that was with Wall at 100%. What will he do with Wall at about 70%?

Honorable Mention:

Victor Oladipo ($7,700): Oladipo is filling a huge hole for Indiana with his outside scoring presence. He racekd up 51.5 DraftKings points in the first game against the Heat. We just saw Beal torch the Heat in back to back games this week. Nothing has changed. Oladipo should hit at least 6x value today.

Dion Waiters ($5,800): Waiters is proving to be a capable scorer for the Heat, but perhaps his greatest asset is his ability to take over the game in the fourth quarter if the Heat need it. He has carried them on his back in the final stanza twice already this month. Waiters is a sure 5x value at this price, and he has decent upside as well.

Dark Horse:

Lance Stephenson ($3,500): Stephenson has quietly picked up at least 7x value in three straight games. He has carved out a solid role on the second squad for the Pacers. If Stephenson keeps playing like this, he could start picking up more minutes. It’s aways risky when your guy doesn’t start, but Stephenson has been great value lately.

My pick:Ā Beal(SG), Oladipo(G), Stephenson(UTIL)

DraftKings
WASHINGTON, DC – OCTOBER 20: Otto Porter Jr. #22 of the Washington Wizards runs the floor against the Detroit Pistons at Capital One Arena on October 20, 2017 in Washington, DC.(Photo by Rob Carr/Getty Images)

Small Forwards:

Best Bets:

Thaddeus Young ($6,300): It’s a good thing that DeRozan is eligible at SF tonight as well. Young has been solid, but he has little upside, and seems a tad overpriced. He put up 26 DraftKings points in the first game with the Heat. I would expect him in that area again, but he likely wont top 5x value.

Otto Porter ($6,200): Porter has not been all that consistent this year, but the upside is there. He picked up 35.25 DraftKings points in the first game with Toronto this year. Porter has even topped 50 DraftKings points twice this year. That said, he still has clunkers. The upside is much better than Young’s though, and the price is nearly identical.

Honorable Mention:

Markieff Morris ($4,800): The Wizards had planned to play Morris more minutes over the last week, but they blew out the Kings and he fouled out on Wednesday. He played half the game on Friday and put up 26.75 DraftKings points. He should see at least that many minutes again today, and is a strong bet to go over value with his skill set even in limited minutes.

Dark Horses:

C.J. Miles ($4,200): Norman Powell is doubtful for today, so that means fire up Miles again! Miles has 80.75 DraftKings points in the three games that Powell has missed. He will be widely owned, but it’s really hard to pass on a sure value like this in any format.

OG Anunoby ($3,700): The minutes are there, but Anunoby hasn’t been able to come anywhere close to the output of Miles. Anunoby does start, so the potential is there. So far he has only come through once in the three games with Powell out.

My pick:Ā Miles(SF)

DraftKings
WASHINGTON, DC – NOVEMBER 17: James Johnson #16 of the Miami Heat looks on against the Washington Wizards in the first half at Capital One Arena on November 17, 2017 in Washington, DC.(Photo by Rob Carr/Getty Images)

Power Forwards

Best Bet:

Domantas Sabonis ($5,700): Power forward is weak today, but Sabonis could still be a solid pick. He had a huge game with 40.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Miami. That was with Turner out, but I would still expect Sabonis at or near 6x value today.

James Johnson ($5,600): Johnson’s price has dipped because of a couple of tough games this week. This will not be another one of them. Johnson picked up 41 DraftKings points in the first meeting with the Pacers. Sabonis has more upside, but Johnson has the better floor.

Honorable Mention:

Kelly Olynyk ($4,300): This could be one place to gain real separation. Olynyk has been a bust for DFS purposes in almost every game. However, he did rack up 36.75 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Indiana. Olynyk is a huge risk, but the track record is there if you are willing to gamble on him.

Dark Horses:

Justise Winslow ($4,000): Winslow has been playing more and better than Olynyk over the last couple of weeks. If I were to roll with a Heat backup, it would likely be Winslow. He is a tougher matchup when he plays the four, which he has been doing a lot of lately.

Pascal Siakam ($3,800): Siakam had a really nice game in place of the injured Serge Ibaka on Friday. Ibaka’s knee was doing better yesterday, but if he ultimately sits again, Siakam is a huge bargain at this price.

My pick:Ā Johnson(PF), Winslow(F)

DraftKings
WASHINGTON, DC – NOVEMBER 17: Hassan Whiteside #21 of the Miami Heat dunks the ball in the first half against the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena on November 17, 2017 in Washington, DC.(Photo by Rob Carr/Getty Images)

Center:

Best Bet:

Hassan Whiteside ($8,900): Whiteside has at least 42 DraftKings points in each of his last five games. It’s not like they were against cupcakes either. He had two with Washington, and one each against Detroit and Utah. It is getting to the point where you can just lock Whiteside in against anyone but the Warriors.

Honorable Mention:

Marcin Gortat ($5,400): Gortat is hard to go with in DFS this year. Last year, he was a constant for 25-30 points. This year, he has been in the teens more already than he was all of last year. That said, He did put up a solid 28.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Toronto. He could be a suitable pivot today away from the underachieving Myles Turner.

Dark Horse:

Lucas Nogueira ($3,400): I would only trust Nogueira if Ibaka is out. He picked up 20 DraftKings points on Friday with Ibaka out and picked up 14 on Indiana in the first meeting with Ibaka in there. There is a lot of potential here if Nogueira is given the chance.

My pick:Ā Whiteside(C)
