WWE WrestleMania 34: Projected card after Survivor Series 2017
Following the 2017 WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view, how do things look for WrestleMania 34?
WWE Survivor Series marked the final “Big 4” pay-per-view of 2017, and the second-to-last one before WrestleMania 34. It’s all the way in April 2018, but only five months from taking place. Time will fly and before everyone knows it, WrestleMania season will be here.
Survivor Series may have been too early for any storylines to get underway for Apr. 8, 2018. However, hints at the directions of multiple superstars were shown in this four-hour show — potentially signifying where they may be in New Orleans, LA.
So, less than five months away from WrestleMania 34, how could the match card look? Let’s take a look.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match
The Usos (c) vs. New Day
The Usos vs. New Day happened quite often in 2017. However, almost every time these tag teams battled, it was an instant classic. Their matches are worth the rewatch on the WWE Network, so why not add yet another one of these to the collection?
WrestleMania 34 would be the best and most deserving place for these teams to showcase their rivalry. It will be about six months since their Hell in a Cell match, more than enough time between for this to feel fresh.
Will Jimmy and Jey remain champions until WrestleMania? That may be difficult, with WWE’s desire to switch titleholders frequently for any championship. The division behind them and New Day is weak, however, so maybe there’s a chance.
Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn
Stop if you’ve heard this one before. Kevin Owens will face a former best friend at WrestleMania. He also turned on this person to set up this match.
That was the storyline of Owens’ matchup with Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 33. Look for a repeat at the 34th show. Instead, it will be Sami Zayn as the opponent.
For the first time since KO’s debut at NXT TakeOver: R Evolution, Owens and Zayn are on the same side. It’s an odd situation given both of them are heels, but that won’t last forever. Just like every WWE friendship to exist (except New Day). When they break up, a match at the Show od Shows will make too much sense to happen.
