After picking up 10 points in their first four games, Besiktas have assured themselves of at least a spot in Europa League. If the Turkish club picks up one point in their remaining two games, they will advance to the round of 16. Porto are second in the group with six points, with a win guaranteeing the club of a spot in Europa League. In the first game between to two clubs, Besiktas defeated Porto 3-1.
Cenk Tosun, Ryan Babel, and Talisca have played very well for Besiktas, combining to score all eight of the club’s eight Champions League goals. Tosun have played particularly well, scoring four goals. Besiktas will lean on their three attacking players to score again against Porto. Senol Günes will have to make changes in his defense. Pepe is expected to miss Tuesday’s game with an injury. Expect Günes to use Gary Medel at center-back in place of Pepe.
Porto are first in Primeira Liga, with 31 points in 11 games. Vincent Aboubakar has been on fire to start the season for Porto. Aboubakar has scored 15 goals in all competitions. However, Aboubakar’s striking partner Moussa Marega could miss Tuesday’s game with a thigh injury. If another player does not step up offensively alongside Aboubakar, Porto could be passed by Leipzig in the group standings.
