The latest Big 12 power rankings for Week 13.
The latest week of Big 12 football wrapped up on Saturday, with five games being played and a handful of interesting results. That included Kansas State’s upset of Oklahoma State, 45-40. It was one of the conference’s biggest surprises of the season, outside of Iowa State’s two wins over ranked teams.
Outside of this and Texas’ win over West Virginia, it was a quiet week for the Big 12. Kansas was blown out by Oklahoma, while TCU dominated a reeling Texas Tech team.
How did all of this impact the latest rankings for the Big 12? Let’s take a look.
Kansas lost its eighth Big 12 game of the season, dropping them to 0-8 in the conference and 1-10 for the year. It wasn’t a surprise, given how poor the Jayhawks have played, along with the opponent being the enigmatic Baker Mayfield and the high-powered Oklahoma team.
It’s been a horrendous season in Lawrence, KS, with just one game to go. This will be against Oklahoma State, which should bring Kansas’ season to its much-needed end.
Even when this school finishes 1-11, there’s been little sign of improvement that can play into 2018. So, this program might be in for another rough season in 10 months.
Baylor may be 1-10 and one of college football’s worst teams by record, but it’s still played competitively in some of those losses. That included Saturday’s loss to Iowa State, who took down Oklahoma and TCU earlier in the season. The Bears entered the fourth quarter, down by just seven points, but couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity and lost, 23-13.
Matt Rhule will close his first season as Baylor’s coach at TCU — hardly an easy matchup. However, with nothing to play for, do they have any chance at the upset?
