Chicago Bears (+13.5) at Philadelphia Eagles

There are some fat lines this week. The one I really want to sink my teeth into is the Chicago Bears getting 13. 5 points on the road versus the Philadelphia Eagles. Simply put, the Eagles are laying way too many points against a bad, but feisty Bears team.

The betting public doesn’t respect the Bears, but smart money is usually on Chicago when they are getting a ton of points. Philadelphia is coming off a dismantling of the arch rival Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. Chicago has essentially one last gasp at making the NFC playoffs.

While this doesn’t necessarily feel like a trap game, Chicago will make this one closer than two touchdowns. The Bears play real defense and have underrated personnel. Carson Wentz might be an NFL MVP finalist, but has been inconsistent at times in his second year in the league. The Bears have a great defensive coordinator in Vic Fangio, who will put together one of his best game plans of the season.

Not to say that the Bears have any hope of completing the Keystone State sweep by knocking off juggernaut Philadelphia on the road, but this is a game where Chicago gives its best effort for three and a half quarters before ultimately fading. Take the Bears getting double digits on the road.
