DraftKings European League Basketball Picks November 23

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our readers! The NBA is off today, so if you need a basketball fix, the Euro League has a little more than half of the 16 team league in action! DraftKings has tournaments for us, so why not? The games start at noon eastern, so make sure to check your lineups early!

More from DraftKings

The Euro league is a different animal. It is much more halfcourt oriented than the NBA game. The games are also eight minutes shorter. There are 16 teams in the Euro League instead of 30. That means a more shallow player pool to choose from

Guards:

I am taking the same approach to lineup building that I do in the NBA games: you need at least one superstar, and to find solid bargains somewhere.

Thomas Huertel ($10,900): The stars are out at guard today. I expect ownership to be very high on Taylor Rochestie, so I will go with Huertel if I’m spending on a top tier guard. Maccabi Tel Aviv has allowed the second most points in the league to guards and was lit up in two rounds last week. Rochestie has a better matchup and is more consistent, but Huertal is capable of putting up the same numbers Rochestie does when the matchup is right. This looks like one of those instances.

Errick McCollum ($7,800): The older brother of C.J. McCollum is a pretty darn good shooter too. In the two rounds last week, McCollum scored 68 DraftKings points, including lighting up Tel Aviv for eight three pointers! He has been on fire now since round six. I like him a lot at this price against Zalgiris.

Janis Strelnieks ($4,600): US DraftKings players tend to go with names that are familiar from their time in the NBA. Brian Roberts is a prime example of that. However, Strelneiks has played just as well as Roberts lately with Vassilis Spanoulis out. Spanoulis could return in time for Thursday’s game, but I wouldn’t put money on it. He hasn’t played this season. Considering that Milan is the worst team in the league defending guards, you could pair Strelnieks with Roberts and save a ton of money!

Forwards:

Dorell Wright ($11,000): I find it really hard to fade Wright. He is such a consistent force in the Euro League round after round. Wright has only been held under 24 DraftKings points once in five rounds. Valencia got chewed up in the middle by Kevin Seraphin last round. Wright is very similar to Seraphin, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he does the same. If you don’t want to spend the max on Wright, I also like Toko Shengelia and Giorgios Printezis, though I am concerned about the Olympiacos guards getting more run against Milan.

Milko Bjelica ($9,500): After a hot start to the Euro League season, Bjelica has fallen on three straight tough rounds. Of course, all of his opponents are in the top five of the league against forwards. It eases up a bit tonight against Vitoria Gasteiz. They are the second worst team against forwards this year. Look for Bjelica to get back on track here today.

Rodrigue Beaubois ($8,500): Remember him? Beaubois lit up Steph Curry for 40 points when they were both NBA rookies. Beaubois suffered many injuries which led to him falling out of the NBA, but he has stayed healthy in the Euro League. Beaubois is an elite scorer, and should get plenty of looks against Belgrade tomorrow.
