The well-loved character Charlie Brown (and his faithful sidekick Snoopy) will return for his annual Thanksgiving special tonight. Here’s how you can find it online.

Poor Charlie Brown. Nothing ever seems to go his way. The hapless character will return the night before Thanksgiving, just to remind you that there is something to be thankful for. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will be a half-hour special, where Charlie, Snoopy, and friends will enjoy a candy-centric ‘Friendsgiving’ celebration (or in Charlie’s case, not enjoy it). For someone who does constantly experience positive, “feel good” moments Charlie never seems to expect them. I guess that’s what makes him (and the show) so endearingly comical.

The animated special was created by the late Charles M. Schultz, and first aired in 1973. Charlie Brown is the first holiday special of the season, and will of course be followed by the somehow even more classic Charlie Brown Christmas later this year.

Something about Charlie’s continual struggle and disappointment has made him relatable across generations. After all, doesn’t everyone feel the world is stacked against them at times? Yet somehow, with the help of his friends, Charlie always manages to avoid being completely crushed by it all.
