4. Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs

Both of these teams came out of the gate hot but have cooled off in recent weeks. So much that their playoff hopes are starting to come into question. It’s a matchup against two of the NFL’s most storied franchises and dedicated fanbases and both sides could really use a win this Sunday.

What’s happened to the Chiefs? After a 5-0 start, they’re 1-4 and have played anything like the team we saw through the first five weeks of the season. Alex Smith seems to have reverted back to his conservative ways and isn’t taking deep shots down the field. Kareem Hunt has cooled down but we expected that. He’s still been productive but the offense as a whole isn’t playing up to their full potential right now. The defense has struggled at times but only gave up 12 points in an overtime loss to the Giants. Not sure what more they can do there.

Luckily for the Chiefs, the Bills are in an even worse spot. The decision to bench Tyrod Taylor came back to haunt head coach Sean McDermott when Nathan Peterson threw five interceptions in the first half of last Sunday’s game. Nothing like ruining a rookie’s confidence in just two quarters and Peterman probably won’t ever be the same. Taylor will start this Sunday and gives the Bills the best chance to win. The defense has been atrocious and given up 101 points in the last two games. They’ve got to step things up or the Bills’ playoff hopes are going to circle down the drain.

Again, I like the home team here and Arrowhead stadium is never an easy place to play. If there’s a game where the Chiefs can turn things around, now is the time. A win helps them expand their division lead in a struggling AFC West.
