We are heading into Thanksgiving, and we still can’t figure out who the favorites are in each conference. This has been a wild NFL season.
What are we to make of the NFL standings? We know the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots are the class of the AFC right now, but can anybody step up and challenge them? The NFC is littered with contenders, but can one step up and put the pressure on Philadelphia for home-field advantage? So many questions, so little time.

Minnesota Vikings (-3) at Detroit Lions
The Vikings (8-2) can put the Lions (6-4) out of the NFC North race, but Minnesota is due to have a tough game, especially on a short week. Detroit can make this a very good battle down the stretch.
Pick: Detroit 23, Minnesota 19
Los Angeles Chargers (-1) at Dallas Cowboys
With Tyron Smith back, the Cowboys (5-5) should look totally different. The Chargers (4-6) are decent, but they scored four defensive touchdowns against the Bills. That doesn’t happen often.
Pick: Dallas 30, Los Angeles 28
New York Giants at Washington Redskins (-7.5)
The Giants (2-8) won last week, which means they aren’t due for another one until September 2018. The Redskins (4-6) are cooked, but they’ll find a way on Turkey Day.
Pick: Washington 31, New York 13
Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs (-10)
You couldn’t pay me enough to take the Chiefs (6-4). They had two weeks to prepare for the Giants and scored nine points. The defense has also registered nine quarterback hits since Week 5. The Bills (5-5) are terrible, but here comes the Tyrod Taylor redemption game.
Pick: Buffalo 30, Kansas City 13
Carolina Panthers (-5) at New York Jets
The Jets (4-6) have fought hard all season, but this is where they go home for a long winter’s nap. The Panthers (7-3) are coming off the bye and get Greg Olsen back, which should help them make a playoff charge.
Pick: Carolina 22, New York 13
