In a matchup of two AFC West teams fighting for their playoff lives, the Oakland Raiders will play host to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

The Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos will battle it out in a classic AFC West matchup on Sunday, with both teams looking to get back on the winning track. Oakland looked like a Super Bowl contender heading into the 2017 season, but injuries, and inconsistent play has really hurt them. Denver got off to a hot start as well, going 3-1, but first-year head coach Vance Joseph has been playing musical chairs at the quarterback position ever since.

Second-year quarterback Paxton Lynch will be the third man to start a game for the Broncos this season, and will be doing it under new offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave. Musgrave takes over for Mike McCoy, who was fired on Monday, and was actually the OC in Oakland last season. Lynch will also be going up against a Raiders defense with a new coordinator, as John Pagano replaced the fired Ken Norton Jr. on Tuesday.

Kickoff begins at 4:25pm ET, and you can be sure the Oakland Coliseum is going to be rocking on Sunday. The Raiders have the talent to at least  be a Wildcard team, but have been wildly inconsistent this season. If they can get a win on Sunday, expect them to make a nice run over the next month or so.

Whichever team loses on Sunday can pretty much kiss their playoff chances goodbye, as it is getting too late in the season to make a run. The Broncos are a mess right now, and with Lynch making his first NFL start, it is going to be hard for him to get going. Expect the Raiders to blitz him like crazy this weekend, making life very difficult for a player looking to make a name for himself within the organization.
