Giants at Redskins: Highlights, score and recap
On Thanksgiving night at FedExField, the Washington Redskins defeated the the New York Giants. What did we learn from this holiday tilt?
It has been a long year for the Washington Redskins, who the last two weeks dropped games to the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints despite the fact that quarterback Kirk Cousins and company put at least 30 points on the board in each contest.
Then again, it’s been an even longer season for Ben McAdoo and the 2-8 New York Giants. But they are coming off a 12-9 overtime victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. And they have semi-owned this series with the ‘Skins as late. Big Blue has won six of the last eight encounters dating back to 2013.
So what were we expecting on Thanksgiving night at Landover, Maryland, as the Redskins played hosts on Thanksgiving for the first time ever? The team played to a listless 3-3 halftime tie. But Washington’s ground game came alive in the second half and the ‘Skins were on their way to a 20-10 win.

Odds
This should tell you just how long a year it has been for the Giants. The Redskins are 4-6 this season and have allowed a combined 72 points in their past two games. Still, McAdoo’s club was a seven-point underdog to their longtime NFC East rivals on Thanksgiving night. The over/under for this contest went off at 44.
Next Week
The New York Giants have a little extra time to prepare for a road game with the Oakland Raiders. Meanwhile, the venue will be different but the circumstances are similar to the Washington Redskins will once again play on Thursday night. This time they will be on the road and face the slumping Dallas Cowboys, a loser of three straight contests. But back in Week 8 at FedExField, Dallas came away with a 33-19 win.
