Legendary Oklahoma head coach Barry Switzer has an idea as to who’s responsible for Baker Mayfield grabbing his crotch.

Last weekend, Oklahoma Sooners quarterback and Heisman frontrunner Baker Mayfield was in the headlines, but unfortunately, it was once again for all the wrong reasons. After being disrespected prior to the game at the coin toss and taking some cheap shots, Mayfield lashed out on the sideline after tossing a touchdown pass by grabbing his crotch and jawing at the Kansas side of the field. As you’d expect, this was all caught on ESPN cameras, and everyone has had an opinion about the whole ordeal since.

One of the folks who has an opinion on it just so happens to be legendary Oklahoma head coach Barry Switzer. However, his opinion on all this differs just slightly from most of the others that we’ve heard this week.

During a local news interview, Switzer went on to explain that he’s not necessarily blaming Mayfield for reaching down and grabbing his crotch as a form of taunting, rather it’s probably the fault of two 1980s pop icons — Madonna and Michael Jackson.

No no … this is something he really said. Just take a look.

OK, well, yeah, that’s certainly a take. It’s not a correct one by any means, but hey, it’s a take nonetheless and that’s what we’re all about here on the internet these days. Just bring those takes to the table, no matter how ridiculous they may be.

But if you want to believe Switzer here, then how dare Madonna and Michael Jackson for grabbing their crotches years ago! Did they not know that their actions would one day prompt a Heisman frontrunner to embarrass himself on national television?!

You really can’t even joke about this. It’s just a ridiculous take by Switzer, but hey, at least we all got a nice laugh out of it here in the last weekend of the regular season.
