The money line was a little more manageable last night at 263.5 DraftKings points. I didnāt get value from DWade, but the stars and scrubs lineup paid off with a top 100 finish with 319 DraftKings points.
The winning lineup was still solid at 356.25 DraftKings points. He built around Curry, Westbrook, and LeBron just like I did, but his scrubs were better. Namely Jarrett Jack Marvin Williams, and Zaza Pachulia.

Point Guards
Best Bets:
Stephen Curry ($9,600):Ā I though that Curry may rest tonight since Draymond got the night off last night. Curry only played 27 minutes in the thrashing of the Bulls, so I doubt he sits now. Curry picked up 45.25 DraftKings points in the first meeting with the Pelicans. That is a little under value, but if KD sits again, Iām all over Curry.
Damian Lillard ($8,500):Ā You may be wondering where the big names are. Well, Westbrook āonlyā had 47.5 DraftKings points in the first game against Dallas. That isnāt a terrible total, but it far less than what you need if you are spending $11k on him. John Wall is questionable, which is another reason Iām on Lillard. If Wall is out, Lillard could have an even bigger game. Lillard is by far the safest high priced option tonight.
Honorable Mention:
Chris Paul ($7,800):Ā Paul went nuts on Denver on Wednesday in just 28 minutes! It remains to be seen whether the Rockets are going to keep him under 30 minutes or not, but he has another enticing matchup against the Knicks. Paul seems too cheap for the numbers he is putting up. Paul has 124.5 DraftKings points in just 73 minutes in his three games back!
Kyle Lowry ($7,700):Ā Lowry has dropped 50 three times in his last four games. Of course, two of those were against the Knicks, but are the Hawks that much better against the point? They really arenāt. However, the Hawks are so bad at other positions that it only makes them seem better against the point. The point guard doesnāt have to do all the damage.
Donovan Mitchell ($6,300):Ā Mitchell is one of the few pieces of the Utah offense that runs with any consistency. It could be tough going against the Bucks, but the middle tier options are actually pretty thin at the point tonight. I trust him more than the inconsistent Elfrid Payton or Justin Holiday. Iām not a big fan of Collison against Boston either.
Dark Horses:
Kyle Anderson ($4,700):Ā Anderson continues to put up strong numbers off the bench for the Spurs. His versatility and consistency are welcome additions not only for the Spurs, but for DFS players that are hunting for bargains. Anderson has put up 92 DraftKings points over the last three games. That means Anderson is one of the better bargains around.
T.J. McConnell ($4,000):Ā Ben Simmons has already been ruled out, so that means extra run for Jerryd Bayless and McConnell. I trust McConnell a lot more than Bayless, though you could use both if you are really in a pinch.
My pick: Curry(PG); McConnell(PG), Paul(G), Bayless(UTIL)

Shooting Guards:
Best Bets:
James Harden ($11,500):Ā Harden has shown the ability to still put up numbers even with Chris Paul playing beside him. His assist totals take a hit, but he can still light up the scoreboard on any given night. Harden has not been under 50 DraftKings points aside from against Denver on Wednesday, but he played just 32 minutes in that one. I donāt know that I would play both Paul and Harden, but if you are spending for a stud, Harden is still worth consideration.
DeMar DeRozan ($8,200):Ā The Hawks are the worst team in the league in allowing fantasy points to off guards. DeRozan is about as skilled as they come at creating his own shots. He is also a good passer and a strong rebounder. That gives DeRozan a solid floor, and we allĀ know what he can do on any given night. Considering this is on the second night of a back to back, if this game gets out of hand, DeRozan could see more bench than usual. That limits his upside a bit, but not enough to keep me from using him.
Honorable Mention:
Tim Hardaway Jr. ($6,800): Hardaway continues to put up big numbers lately. Only Sacramento has held him under 27 DraftKings points since the beginning of November. Play him with confidence against Houston. The Rockets donāt defend the wings well.
Klay Thompson ($6,700):Ā Thompson and the rest of the starters should be well rested after thrashing the Bulls last night. It was Klay who put a hurting on New Orleans in the first meeting. Thompson put up 45.5 DraftKings points in that game, and could be in for a repeat performance. Especially if Durant is out again.
Dark Horses:
Kent Bazemore ($5,300):Ā Bazemoreās inconsistency will scare a lot of players off. Bazemore had a solid game last night, and should be in for another against a Toronto team that has been assaulted on the wings lately. Some huge numbers have been put up against the Raptors this month. Bazemore is capable of adding another.
Courtney Lee ($4,800):Ā Lee continued his tear last night with another game over 35 DraftKings points. I donāt know who will slow him down or when, but I really doubt that itās going to be Houston. Do keep an eye on whether Lee or Hardaway start at SG. I want the one that is being guarded by Harden, not Ariza.
Norman Powell ($3,900):Ā It looks likely that C.J. Miles is out again. Powell had a strong game filling in for him last night. If you need to go really cheap, Fred VanVleet also had a big game off the bench, but he doesnāt provide a lot of consistent production, even with extended minutes.
My pick: DeRozan(SG), Hardaway(G); Powell(SG)

Small Forwards:
Best Bets:
Paul George ($8,900):Ā There is a lot of uncertainty at the top of this position. Giannis is playing, but his price makes it really tough to use him against a good team like Utah. Many will be off of George as well with the way Dallas has shut down small forwards. However, George racked up a staggering 60.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Dallas. Westbrook had a horrible game there, so I wouldnāt count on that type of production again, but 5x value is possible, which could be tough at this position tonight.
Khris Middleton ($7,100):Ā Middleton was nothing short of great with Giannis out on Wednesday. With Giannis back, I expect him to fade back a little more. However, Middleton will see an easier defensive assignment than Giannis will. I would rather take a shot on Middleton if using anyone from the Bucks backcourt.
Honorable Mention:
Robert Covington ($6,200):Ā Covington has three straight games with more than 30 DraftKings points. Thatās not all that impressive until you look at who he played in that stretch. Those three games were against Golden State, Portland, and Utah. If he can hold his own against those teams, he should be able to do the same against Orlando.
Jayson Tatum ($6,000):Ā Tatum has shown the ability to contribute in multiple categories and has proven to be an efficient scorer. That is key when eyeballing him for DFS purposes. Tatum doesnāt need a large number of shots to put points on the board, which is good because there arenāt a lot to go around after Kyrie and Horford. Indiana is pretty weak up front, so I really like this matchup.
Thaddeus Young ($5,900):Ā Young is quietly putting up 30 DraftKings points a night over the last week or so. He lacks upside with Sabonis around, but if you need a sure 5x value guy at a decent price, Young is there and usually isnāt widely owned.
Dark Horses:
Jeremy Lamb ($5,400):Ā Lamb excelled again with Batum out. It looks as though Batum is out again, so expect Lamb to see another big workload. I donāt like him as much against the Spurs, but Lamb is capable of putting up some huge numbers if he gets hot. That makes him an intriguing GPP option.
Omri Casspi ($3,600):Ā Casspi started in place of Kevin Durant last night, and looks to be the favorite to do so again. Durant is listed as doubtful, so fire up Curry and use Casspi for value. I prefer Casspi to Iggy because he produces in more categories. Nick Young picked up a lot of th scoring load and is also an option, but I think he gets less tonight with Draymond back in there.
My pick: Tatum(SF), Casspi(UTIL); N/A

Power Forwards
Best Bets:
Anthony Davis ($10,600):Ā Davis destroyed the Warriors in the first meeting. He racked up 70.75 DraftKings points in that game. I doubt he gets to quite that level again, but I donāt see any reason why he cant hit 5x value, even for this price. The Warriors donāt really have an answer for him. They did give Draymond an extra day or rest to try and help.
LaMarcus Aldridge ($7,700):Ā Aldridge was dominated by the Towers of New Orleans on Wednesday night. It will be a lot easier going against Charlotte tonight. Iām hoping that the bad night keeps his ownership down because I plan on using LMA against the Hornets. He is good enough to put up a really nice performance against this frontcourt.
Honorable Mention:
Derrick Favors ($6,100):Ā John Henson should be back for Milwaukee. That makes their interior a little better, but not enough to keep me from using Favors. He has been a consistent force with Rudy Gobert out. Favors hasnāt turned in a dominant performance yet, but he has a couple of over 40 DraftKings points, which is very nice value at his price point.
Domantas Sabonis ($5,600):Ā Both he and Young are preventing the other from really being a great DFS play. However, they both also keep putting up 5x value every night. Sabonis does have more upside, so he is usually the one you want in your lineup.
Dark Horses:
John Collins ($5,200):Ā I donāt like the matchup with Toronto, but how do you pick against Collins right now? He had a tough matchup last night with the Knicks, and he still hit 5x value. The Atlanta frontcourt is still beat up, which means that Collins should see extended minutes again tonight.
Dirk Nowitzki ($4,400):Ā Dallas tried to play Dirk less at the beginning of the season, but the veteran has worked his way back into a 28-32 minutes per game role for the Mavs. Dirk has six straight games of at least 5x value since his last meeting against the Thunder. He played only 19 minutes and came up with 7.75 DraftKings points. I like him to up his average quite a bit tonight.
Wesley Johnson ($4,000):Ā Johnson will continue to get extended run with the news that Gallinari will be out at least another week. He has at least 6x value in each of the last four games. He went as high as 11x value in one of them. Johnson is a must play if you are bargain hunting.
My pick: Johnson(PF); Johnson(SF),Davis(PF)

Center:
Best Bets:
DeMarcus Cousins ($11,000):Ā One would think that Cousins probably struggled since A.D. has a monster game in the first meetingĀ with the Warriors. That wasnāt the case. Boogie picked up 68 DraftKings points of his own on Golden State! The Warriors still donāt match up well with these behemoths. If you can cram both into your lineup, it may not be a bad idea.
Joel Embiid ($9,800):Ā You would like a little more consistency when you pay this much for a player, but Embiidās struggles game against Utah and Golden State. There is no shame in that. He also put up one of the truly great performances of the season from a DraftKings perspective when he dropped 90 on the Lakers. He is the only one under five digits to hit 90 this season. Orlando is pretty weak in the middle, so Embiid should have a nice game here.
Honorable Mention:
Al Horford ($7,000):Ā Horford has been cold from the field lately and took just five shots last night, but he has the best matchup on the court tonight against the Pacers. I have to think that the drought ends here. Horford is far too talented to stay down for long.
DeAndre Jordan ($6,800):Ā Jordan has piled on the rebounds this season. When he has Lou Williams bombing away from deep, that leaves a few stray balls for him to track down. All kidding aside, Jordan has become one of the truly great rebounders of his era, which makes him a low risk DFS play.
Nikola Vucevic ($6,700):Ā Embiid is mostly an offensive force at this stage of his career, so there is a chance that Vucevic could still put up some good numbers here. I like him less with Embiid out there, but statistically speaking, this is a game where Vucevic can succeed.
Dark Horses:
Willie Cauley-Stein ($4,900):Ā There is always risk involved with using anyone not named Zach Randolph out of the Kings frontcourt, but the Clippers are dead last in fantasy points allowed to centers. WCS has topped 20 points in two of the last four games. He has also gone over 36 DraftKings points in three of the last four. The only one he missed was against Denver. I feel good about this pick tonight.
Marcin Gortat ($4,900):Ā Gortat is easily forgotten because he doesnāt put up the types of numbers that attract attention. However, he does put up pretty consistent numbers. Since a rough stretch in mid November, Gortat has at least 29 DraftKings points in his last five games. Portland has struggled against centers again this year. Gortat is a nice play in cash formats and a low risk alternative to WCS in all formats
Thon Maker ($3,900):Ā Scouts continue to love Makerās upside, and he finally showed some of that potential against Phoenix with Henson out on Wednesday. Maker racked up 33 points in 33 minutes. It may result in some extra playing time even with Henson back. It seems obvious that Maker is the future here.
My pick: Cauley-Stein(F), Jordan(C)C; Cousins(C), Cauley-Stein(F)
