Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett suffered a leg injury during the Buckeyes’ game vs. Michigan. Now, we know why: A cameraman was the cause, says Urban Meyer.

Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback J.T. Barrett became the first Buckeye QB to go 4-0 against Michigan in their career on Saturday afternoon. But Barrett didn’t finish the game, as he left with a leg injury, giving way to Dwayne Haskins pitching in relief. It’s not the first time that he left a game vs. Michigan with an injury, of course, and this one didn’t hurt their cause against their rivals like the injury in 2014 didn’t, either. What we didn’t know was the root of what the injury was.

The mystery after Saturday afternoon’s affair in Ann Arbor was apparently solved. During his postgame press conference, head coach Urban Meyer addressed the situation, and according to the Ohio State head coach, a cameraman that was standing on the crowded sideline caused his injury. Ryan Ginn of Land of 10 tweeted as much:

Now, of course, Meyer saying that “he’s going to find out who it was” seems like quite the overstep. While irritated, unless this is taking a page out of WWE, the cameraman likely didn’t injure Barrett purposefully. Although, Fox 19’s Jeremy Rauch tweeted that may very well have been the case, according to one person he asked.

But if we want to take Barrett at his word, he says he doesn’t think it was malicious.

Speaking of, the celebrated Buckeye QB says he will be able to play in next week’s Big Ten Championship Game against the Wisconsin Badgers.

The Game is intense as it is, and now cameramen are apparently involved? Tensions are crazy this time of year between the folks in Columbus and Ann Arbor. But even this seems like a crazy step forward in a direction no one should want to go into.
