Auburn was dealt a serious blow in the Iron Bowl against Alabama on Saturday with star running back Kerryon Johnson leaving the game with a leg injury.
In the Iron Bowl on Saturday, pretty much everything has gone the way of the Auburn Tigers against the Alabama Crimson Tide. They were up by 12 in the fourth quarter as they chase an SEC Championship and a berth in the College Football Playoff, but now, unfortunately, it looks as if they made need to continue that chase without maybe their best player — running back Kerryon Johnson.
As Auburn was looking to extend that lead in the fourth quarter on Saturday, Johnson took the ball and made a quick jump cut, then made his way to the left side of the field. However, just as he was looking to take the sideline, he suddenly hit the deck and began writhing in pain.

Johnson would exit the game and go to the tent, however, he was not in there for long and eventually made his way back to the locker room. On the CBS broadcast, it was noted that it appears to be a shoulder injury, and as he was walking off, you could tell that he was indeed favoring the right arm. From the way he was favoring that arm, while you always hate to speculate, it doesn’t look all that great for his future the rest of the way this season.
Should Auburn be without Johnson, one of the best backs in the country, that’s obviously a huge blow to their title chances — both in the conference and on the national landscape.
As more becomes available about the condition of Johnson, we will keep you updated right here.
