Manchester United welcome Brighton to Old Trafford this Saturday. Manchester United won their last Premier League fixture 4-1 over Newcastle after losing to Chelsea 1-0. Brighton haven’t lost a Premier League fixture since the beginning of October to Arsenal.
Manchester United are full strength again. Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic being back in the lineup and on the bench play perfectly into the upcoming busy schedule for English teams. Pogba brings more midfield stability to a team that needed a dose of creativity and consistency to their midfield. At home it’s unlikely that Jose Mourinho will go up into his defensive shell and play passively. It’s vital that United don’t leave themselves unnecessarily exposed at the back when throwing their attack forward. They’re capable of attacking with the best of them, but they can’t do so foolishly.
Brighton have been more consistent side than most thought. They’ve strangely given up 13 goals and scored 13 goals, as well as having four wins, losses and draws. They’ve been the definition of average this season sitting at ninth in the league. Against an attack like United’s that can be inconsistent, their best hope is holding on defensively and waiting for United to make a mistake.
