Tottenham had an up and down week, losing the North London derby to Arsenal but defeating Borussia Dortmund in Champions League action to finish first in their group. West Brom fired manager Tony Pulis on Monday, with the team sitting one point above the relegation zone.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team have lost two of their past three games to drop to fourth in the Premier League table, 11 points behind Manchester City. Defensively, only two teams have allowed fewer goals than Spurs, who have scored the sixth most goals in the Premier League. The front three of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, and Christian Eriksen have combined for 14 goals this season. With Toby Alderweireld still out with injury, Pochettino has used a back three of Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, and Jan Vertonghen. With full-backs, Serge Aurier and Danny Rose pushing further forward and operating as wingbacks.
West Brom decided to fire Pulis after the Baggies dropped their fourth straight game. The Throstles have not won a game since the second week of the season. Gary Megson takes over as manager of West Brom and will try to improve a team that has scored the fourth fewest goals in the Premier League and allowed the sixth most goals this season.
