Juventus are third in Serie A, four points behind Napoli after the Turin side lost 3-2 to Sampdoria. Crotone are 15th in the league table but are only three points clear of the relegation zone after they lost 1-0 to 18th place Genoa.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side have been disappointing the past two weeks. Prior to losing to Sampdoria, Juventus barely got past last-place Benevento, who have been called the worst team in the history of Serie A. In Champions League, Allegri switched to a back three, holding Barcelona to a scoreless draw. With Giorgio Chiellini dealing with a thigh injury, Allegri might continue using a back three. After scoring 10 goals in his first six games, Paulo Dybala has cooled off significantly. Dybala has scored only twice in his last seven games. While Dybala has slowed up, Gonzalo Higuain has scored five goals in his last four Serie A games.
After picking up two surprising weeks, Crotone lost to Genoa, dropping the team closer to the relegation zone. Only Verona and Benevento have allowed more goals than Crotone this season. In addition to being poor defensively, Davide Nicola’s side have scored the four fewest goals in Serie A. Crotone’s starting strikers Ante Budimir and Marcello Trotta have combined to score five of the club’s 11 goals.
