A month into the season, this edition of the NBA games of the week revolves around mini-revenge games.
Welcome back from your Thanksgiving break. Here’s to hoping your Black Friday was civil and effective. And here’s to esepcially hoping your 10th turkey sandwich over the course of the next week tastes as good as the first one.
We’re about a quarter of the way through the NBA season, which means we finally have some stability among the best and worst teams in the league. For example, it’s pretty apparent the Rockets will be competing for one of the best records in the league, and the Kings and Bulls will battle for the best odds under the league’s final season with this current lottery system.
I spent the first half of my preparation for this piece fitting the theme into Cyber Monday. With a Thanksgiving-themed games of the week already, why not follow it up with one of the best sales days of the year?
However, the wrench continually tossed into my idea was I had no idea how Cyber Monday worked. I knew there were sales on tablets and things like that, but I wasn’t sure how I could fit all of it into a games of the week. It made me realize two things. The first is pigeonholing games of the week into themes surrounding all the holidays can be overrated. The second is my realization I’ve been broke since I entered the work force at 16 and I can’t even afford the deals on Cyber Monday.
So, in lieu of forcing square pegs into round holes, these games of the week will be centered on run backs. Teams who were beat early in the season, whether on buzzer-beaters or blown leads, get their chances for revenge. You guessed it! The Thunder are on here twice!
