Monday’s next episode of The Good Doctor sees Dr. Shaun Murphy and his colleagues handle a new patient from halfway around the world. How will the ABC medical drama tackle a case that isn’t like anything it’s had before?

Season 1, episode 9 is called “Intangibles” and challenges Shaun (Freddie Highmore) and Dr. Neil Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez). Their patient comes to St. Bonaventure from the Congo, so what kind of cultural or language barriers will exist in addition to the medical ones? But it might be a bit easier for Shaun, since The Good Doctor season 1 had him involved in a robbery last week, so at least now he’s back in his normal routine with his regular colleagues.

The Good Doctor has had quite a few interesting cases this season, but “Intangibles” is a left turn for The Good Doctor season 1, because there are so many possibilities that the case of the week could take. How will it end?
