The blue brand went to the hub of Big Blue Nation on Tuesday night. SmackDown Live delivered an exciting show with some twists dashed in.

The latest episode of SmackDown Live has come and gone. SDL went to Lexington, Kentucky on Tuesday night. Rupp Arena played host to the latest blue brand-produced episode of WWE TV, and there were quite a few twists and turns that have certainly grabbed attention.

Here are a few noteworthy events that went down in Rupp:

  • The New Day emerged victorious over Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable. With The Usos at ringside, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods defeated their newfound contemporaries in a pretty fun match. This is a bit interesting, as Benjamin and Gable seemed poised to be next in line. Perhaps this means that a triple threat tag at Clash of Champions could be on the horizon, which would certainly be fun.
  • The Hype Bros finally dissolved, but it was Mojo Rawley who turned heel on Zack Ryder. It seemed like the anticipated breakup would lead to Ryder turning on Mojo, but it was the opposite that went down instead. Rawley viciously attacked his former tag team partner after the duo lost another match to the Bludgeon Brothers. Rawley as a bad guy will be a fascinating situation. He can certainly be a good mid-card/upper card heel if given the opportunity.
  • Bobby Roode had a backstage encounter with U.S. Champion Baron Corbin. It appears that Roode and Corbin will be squaring off for the coveted championship in the very near future. “The Lone Wolf” did balk on interest, though.
  • The latest episode of The Fashion Files dropped. They partook in a Saw parody in which Breezango left The Ascension, who sacrificed themselves after they were going to “beat the dead horse.”

Jinder’s frustration boils over

It hasn’t been the best month for the former WWE Champion. Jinder Mahal lost his championship two weeks before Survivor Series. Mahal lost out on the opportunity to face Brock Lesnar at the pay-per-view as well, with that honor going to AJ Styles instead. Styles had become a huge thorn in Mahal’s side, as he mowed through both Singh Brothers.

Speaking of the Singhs, “The Phenomenal One” battled them both in a handicap match Tuesday night. Mahal took his frustration out on Styles before the match, kicking and stomping away at the WWE Champion. Styles, however, overcame this assault and the 2-on-1 disadvantage that he faced. He finished the match off with a second-rope Styles Clash, slamming one of the Singhs onto the other.

Everyone gets to a boiling point eventually. Seeing this go down, Mahal reached his. After the match, he got in the ring and went on the offensive. Jinder took down both Singh Brothers, hitting them each with the Khallas.

Of course, there’s no telling if this means the end for Jinder’s cohorts yet. This fractured relationship likely will remain intact until Clash of Champions. Assuming Mahal loses because of the Singh Brothers, that would then likely lead to a complete dissolution.

The Singhs have certainly done their best work with Mahal the past few months. All good things come to an end, though. And if anything, at least the last few weeks of frustration would make for a breakup that would make sense.
