Miami wide receiver Ahmmon Richards has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a torn meniscus.

Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Ahmmon Richards has been ruled out for the rest of the 2017 season. He tore his meniscus in suffered in practice on Wednesday, bringing his campaign to a premature end. This is heartbreaking news considering the ACC Championship Game is right around the corner. The Canes are in trouble as they now have another offensive star sidelined due to injury.

Miami tight end Chris Herndon suffered an injury against Pittsburgh on Friday. His injury was late in the third quarter and was also one that ruled him out the rest of the year. Along with this recent Richards injury, the Hurricanes are in trouble. Two of their top receiving targets are now out for the rest of the season, and with that, their chances of winning the ACC are now lowered.

Without the two biggest targets on the Canes’ offensive roster, things are going to be challenging against that very talented Clemson Tigers defense. Richards was No. 3 for the Hurricanes in catches and Herndon was second.

Richards in 2017 hauled in 24 receptions for 439 yards and three touchdowns. Miami needs to reboot with new faces coming onto the field on Saturday and hopefully shock the nation as the Canes look to revive its main targets and take the ACC title. One can only hope, but this game is now considerably scary offensively for the Canes. One target down is enough, but now with Richards down, things are going to be very different and tough to come by.
