76ers at Celtics live stream: How to watch online
By Ben Ladner
The Boston Celtics will host the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night. Here is how to watch this Eastern Conference NBA game online via live streaming.
Only five games are on the NBA docket this Thursday, one of which is a matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics, two of the NBA’s brightest young teams.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST on Nov. 30, 2017 at the TD Garden in Boston. The hometown Celtics’ broadcast will run on NBC Sports Boston while NBC Sports Philadelphia will have the 76ers’ feed, and the game will also air on NBA TV. The game can also be streamed live on FuboTV.
As it currently sits, both of these teams figure to make the playoffs, though Boston does have a seven-game advantage in the win column. The Celtics (18-4) still sit atop the Eastern Conference standings despite losing two of their last four after an incredible 16-game win streak. Boston plays a deep rotation and finds production from unlikely sources. Meanwhile, its top-end players have been as good or better than expected during this initial push out of the gate.
Philadelphia (11-8) might be the only team in the Eastern Conference with a more promising core of young players than the Celtics. Though not as good right now, the 76ers have two of the league’s brightest young stars in Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, who have produced atypically good numbers for such young players. Like the Celtics, the Sixers have exceeded expectations due to the play of Embiid and Simmons, and seem to be ahead of schedule in their rebuilding period.
Boston enters the game with the NBA’s best defense while Philly is just outside the top ten, and both squads trot out middle-third offenses. The Celtics own the fourth-best net rating in the league and the Sixers have the 13th.

With only 10 teams in action Thursday night, this is perhaps the most compelling game of the night. Al Horford, playing arguably the best basketball of his career, will face a tough test in Embiid, and Simmons will likely be guarded by Jaylen Brown, an exciting up-and-comer in his own right. Brown and Jayson Tatum currently rank first and second on the team, respectively, in total minutes played and are shooting almost 44 percent combined from 3-point range. For Philadelphia, Simmons is posting a stat line no rookie other than Oscar Robertson has maintained for an entire season.
Though Boston will be the rightful favorite to win at home, this game should be appointment television for NBA fans. On Thursday, it will be another regular season game. But in the future, these two teams could become playoff opponents as soon as this year, and hopefully for many more years to come.
