Someone’s aiming for a promotion in Thursday’s new episode of FOX‘s The Orville. But will Captain Ed Mercer be open to change? After all, change hasn’t exactly been kind to him so far in The Orville season 1.
Season 1, episode 11 is called “New Dimensions” and has John Lamarr (J Lee) considering his future when Kelly Grayson (Adrianne Palicki) discovers just how smart the lieutenant is. She leans on Ed (Seth MacFarlane) to promote him. But it’s not a great time to discuss promotions, because Ed has his hands full just trying to keep the Orville in one piece as it battles the space problem of the week.
The Orville season 1 has already thrown all kinds of wild and wonderful things at Ed and his crew (remember that last week the crazy things were happening on the ship), so “New Dimensions” is not a new challenge for the team. But maybe Lamarr will be able to help get them out of it and that will be his way up the ranks? It’s a challenge, that’s for sure.

"Kelly discovers that Lt. John Lamarr is smarter than he lets on. So, she pushes Ed to consider him for a key leadership position on the ship after The Orville gets damaged by a mysterious spatial anomaly causing harrowing effects to all things living."
