5 bold Premier League predictions: Tottenham lose again, Adrian denies Manchester City
The Premier League features a huge clash between Arsenal and Manchester United this weekend. Here are five bold predictions for all the action.
The Premier League teams face their third fixture in the space of a week with 10 more matches going on this weekend. Chelsea kick off the weekend at home to Newcastle while Manchester United visit Arsenal in what should be an exciting game.
Matchweek 15 ends with Manchester City hosting West Ham at the Etihad, in a game where Adrian will try and stifle the runaway leaders. Here are five bold Premier League predictions for the weekend.
1. Xhaka and Young sent off
The biggest game of the weekend is undoubtedly Manchester United’s visit to the Emirates to take on Arsenal. Not too long ago those games had huge billing as United and Arsenal were the biggest sides in English soccer. The decline of both in recent years has changed the dynamic of this fixture, but it’s still a big game.
The match also features a big managerial rivalry with Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho locking horns for the umpteenth time in the Premier League. Mourinho holds a strong record over Wenger but the Frenchman finally got a league win against him last year when the Gunners triumphed over United at the Emirates.
These games are normally fiery but of late they’ve lacked that edge which makes them so exciting to watch. Goals are great but the passion of players flying into tackles, contesting throw-ins and in general just hating the opposition is something that’s less prominent in these games now.
We fancy that to change this weekend and both sides to finish the match with 10 men. Granit Xhaka or Ashley Young will be the players to see red.
