We’re getting ready to see the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets square off at MetLife Stadium. Which team will prevail in this contest?
The New York Jets have dropped two straight games since that impressive 34-21 Thursday night victory over the Buffalo Bills. Last Sunday, they put 27 points on the board against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers but a few late miscues resulted in an eight-point loss.
The Kansas City Chiefs have even bigger problems these days. Andy Reid’s club is 6-5 and is still the only team in the AFC West with a winning record. But the 5-6 Los Angeles Chargers and 5-6 Oakland Raiders are right on their heels. And who knows what the divisional standings will look like by Sunday evening? So what can we expect from this matchup?

Line: Chiefs (-3)
Over/Under: 44
Despite a 1-5 run in their last six games, the Chiefs are still 3-point road favorites against Todd Bowles’ club. Given the state of both of these offenses, the under may be a viable play. Both of these numbers are courtesy of OddsShark.

In the past two seasons, the Chiefs rode a conservative offense and an opportunistic defense to a pair of playoff appearances. There were 29 takeaways in 2015 and the club forced a league-best 33 turnovers a year ago. But there have been only 14 takeaways for a club that ranks 27th in the NFL in total defense while only four teams have allowed more rushing yards per contest.
The Jets have had their moments this season and each of their last five losses have been by eight points or less. And this will wind up being another frustrating and close loss for Bowles’ team.
Pick: Chiefs 13, Jets 10
